Research on Uncertain Territories

Uncertain territories constitute the ‘other side‘ of a city. They can have a lot of different faces (for example spaces between two strong axes, industrial wastelands or security areas around dangerous production sites, etc). They are new ways of envisioning the territory. We decided to consider them as conceptual potentialities.

Reshaping the infrastructure in order to dig out the potential of the uncertain spaces was the key of this research. We tried to integrate those territories into our social and ecological practices as well as in our ‘daily life experience’.

In the long run we can hope for a maturation of uncertain spaces. An interdependence between them and the infrastructure appears.
